ISDN BRI Install & Test Checklist

Don't let the carrier tech leave until you have performed System Testing. Once they are gone, it could take days to fix the problem.

During ISDN BRI install, ask the ISDN technician these questions. If you experience problems with your BRI circuits, we can not help without this information.

 TEST  WHAT CAN GO WRONG

Make two simultaneous calls out on each BRI circuit. If one of two SPIDS SPID

Sometimes, one of the two SPIDS does not initialize. In this case, the 2nd simultaneous call fails.

One the last BRI circuit, call a telephone number on this same circuit to make busy both channels on the last BRI busy. From your cell phone, call one of the TN's on this last BRI. The call should circular hunt to the first idle BRI circuit.

Failure is a busy signal. Verizon put terminal hunting on the multi-line hunt group(MLHG) Request circular hunt MLHG.

Caller ID inbound: Call into any TN to verify reception of Caller ID Name and Number.

Make sure that name and number is showing on KTD display

Caller ID Outbound: Make sure that the proper Caller ID name is generated to the called party.

Incorrect or no Name is generated to the called party.

Routing: Call into any TN.

Call should route according to class 25. If it does not, set 04.71 display settings to 1,4 to show Caller ID name and delivered DNIS number. DNIS should be 7 digits. RND calls deliver 10 digits.

Any SPID change in class 11 requires a reset of that BRI. This can be accomplished by a system reset. This will establish correct connections between Adix/NT1 and your ISDN BRI provider.
