Pediatric Associates, Two Office Networked Call Center
The Challenge:
Pediatric Associates, PC needed a cost-effective system to connect two offices and make them work as one. Most important, as a high call volume medical practice, they could not afford any lost calls or downtime and needed a powerful system that could be easily managed could integrate with their existing data infrastructure.
The Solution:
Pediatric Associates, PC installed their SECOND phone system from Infotel Systems. This system features centralized voice mail, automatic call distribution, desktop phones, IP extensions at the remote office, integrated network hardware, and after-hours paging.

System Reliability:
Rugged ISO 9002 rated hardware combined with a dedicated telecom operating system called “Wind River” provides a published 99.999% uptime rating, one of the highest in the industry. The system is backed by an Infotel Systems two-year parts and labor warranty. The voice network T1 connection between offices is engineered with an Internet VPN failover should the T1 fail. While the remote phones are IP, the main office phones are “classic” digital phones and are separated from the data IP network and thus immune to data network failure. Should the AC power to the building fail, large system batteries provide hours of power backup not technically possible with standard computer UPS systems.
Cost Efficiencies:
Two offices share the cost and maintenance of one communication system. The system allows the two locations to centralize scheduling, bookkeeping, and practice management. A centralized voice T1 at the main site eliminated the need for duplicate utilities at the remote site.
